A Little Bit About Me, my Experience and my Mission
I am married to a wonderful man named Kyle who also loves working with children and is a biology teacher, cross country and track coach at San Jacinto Leadership Academy. We have a very friendly, sweet beagle named Elsa and a sweet cat named Lola. I enjoy being in nature, bike riding, swimming and reading every book I can get my hands on. We have an 10 year old daughter named Gemma who will be involved in all the classes.
I have always loved working with children, everyday is different and there is never a dull moment. I got my bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Colorado State University and I have 20 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. I taught preschool for many years and even owned my own preschool when we lived in Colorado and before deciding to homeschool our daughter. I love to lead classes for kids and have lead many classes in our local homeschool group from STEM classes to children's book clubs, art and craft projects for large groups of kids up to 40+. Leading homeschool classes has been a dream of mine for a while now and I am so happy to have this opportunity.
My mission for these classes is to provide a way for homeschool kids to build friendships and learn in a group setting. I believe strongly in meeting children where they are at and providing them a safe comfortable space to learn and grow. I encourage problem solving and creativity and each child will have their own unique take on where they will go with their projects and work.
